Theater of the Mind

WIP Abstract

Theater of the mind was originally used to describe how radio programs
used one's mind as a stage and the imagination to generate the
show. Marshall McLuhan described radio as a hot medium, meaning the
media required audience participation. Radio dramas used the theater
of the mind concept to tell stories that would come to life in the
imagination of the listener. Joe Frank is an example of a storyteller
that played in the theater through the medium of radio.

Theater of the Mind is used by other hot mediums as well, books,
music, still images, etc. To some degree, all mediums play with the
Theater.
