no thoughts, head empty; no thoughts, head empty. walking down the
middle of the street, middle of the night again with a tape recorder
going, picking up all the noises. think something interesting will
happen this time? probably not, never does. checked the heat map for
the redest neighboorhoods. where all that crime i been promised? kick
up against the curb, looking round for a new place to look out or
something, going round scaring the drunks fresh off last call, still
looking for one last fix to get the world all making sense again. look
at that guy right here, already talking to himself and he still walks
straight.

is that you, is that me?

don't know about that anymore, just sit right here, and for four bucks
a day, a man will cross the sea to point at your mind. did you see him
walk by? it's ok, it's all right. i only just read that book too, so not
like i know anything about that either. just another memory of some
dialogue discussing the best way to translate those hermit poems. just
another lost memory of that recording of that guy throwing words
around in the midst of a dope rant with some wild rythm i still cannot
seem to get down. too many words between these commas or not enough?
more semi-colons perhaps? does my avoidance of perscriptive grammar
look anything descriptive. does this sound the same in your head as I
try to make it sound in mind?

can you tell which ones are mistakes and which ones are on purpose?
can I?

strolling down the sreet a little further, looking for that rooftop
with the view of our generation's best minds, naked starving
hysterically. try to find their path to madness, skip out on attending
the court to go paint the sound of chopped bamboo. pretty sure all the
billboards are blocking my view.

and so much flashy flashy lights. what about that alley? nice quiet
place to get some peace, for a bit, at least. try to talk about
something with the tree and make another painting for the
mission. don't know why they so afraid to walk here at night, sure
this part of the map is technically red, but the fine print said thats
just cause of the population density and all the businesses. so many
cops going by, cameras everywhere, hard to imagine how i got outta
here without anything to self report. does that homeless even see me
right here as he helps water the plants?
